Brand new Kimono Zines made for Ōtautahi Zinefest 2025!

The kimono is Japan’s national garment and it has been worn for over one thousand years. Traditional kimono are hand dyed, hand sewn and hand embroidered - every piece is unique. They are still highly valued garments today and are worn at weddings, funerals, graduations, tea ceremonies and other events.

Featuring 8 of my digitally illustrated Kimono Gals and a double spread mini art print in the middle, this zine is a fantastic introduction to the different types of women’s kimono.

Zines (pronounced ‘zeen’ like in the word ‘magazine’) are small self publications of text and/or images, and are usually filled with art, poems or general musings.
